Totem is a brand new concept in signage for rural and natural locations - places where normal signs would be an intrusion in the landscape. Taking nature as its model, it uses freeform organic shapes, natural materials and earthy colours to ensure harmony with the natural surroundings.

.
. . Giving nature a platform
Totem provides an interface through which nature can speak - with a range of exciting and innovative interpretive plinths explaining the dynamics which drive it and illustrating the wonders that it holds.
And, what is more, it does it not in a book or in a classroom or somewhere removed from the natural environment but out in the field, on the ground, where it matters.
Every natural site is unique and has its own special requirements. Totem can be adapted to suit the needs of any location as the wide range of standard sign and interpretive formats and rustic furniture can be used alongside site-specific elements to ensure that the site is signposted and interpreted effectively for the benefit of all its users - both human and non-human!

Simple interactive elements can help add interest.
Height and shape can be altered to add variety.
"Silence seats" where visitors can sit quietly and see what wildlife appears.
"What's on the menu?" picnic benches with examples of who eats what in nature.
